The firstBASE web pages and database have now been in place since 2002. Things have moved on since then however, and the Collections Trust (formerly MDA) have provided funding this year for some much needed consolidation and updating of firstBASE.

• In May and June 2008 existing entries on firstBASE were checked and updated and these changes are now live.
  
• The next phase of work, which will take place between July and September 2008 will add the results of a collections survey undertaken in 2004.
  
• Other work to be undertaken includes a section on useful website references

After this work has been completed, firstBASE will be updated on a quarterly basis. Significant changes will be recorded here, so watch this space ..
